NATURAL JADE: This is a high grade jade pendant necklace. The pendant is completely natural jadeite jade.

CARVING: Kṣitigarbha Buddha is one of the four principal buddhas or bodhisattvas. His name means "Earth Treasure", "Earth Store". He is the buddha responsible for the instruction of all beings to achieve enlightenment and buddhahood.

This piece of black jade is beautifully hand carved with Ksitigarbha's image. The carving has the characters for the ancient Mandarin Chinese text for the Mahayana sutra.
